We bought two of these chairs..........21 years ago! They have moved with us - moved up and down in the house - been laid on - eaten on - and generally lived in. But more importantly, they are our famous 'white chair talks' chairs. Everyone of our children have been asked on many occasions to join us for a white chair talk. We have discussed many things with our kids on those chairs. A few of our in-law kids have had some explainin' to do as to why they were marrying our kids. We've cried in those chairs. We laughed in those chairs. We've yelled at those in the chairs. We've been yelled back at by those in the chairs. I've fallen asleep with my own kids and my grandbabies in those chairs. They are famous in our family circle.
And I will say that only one of our children felt so left out for never having been called for a white chair talk that she asked for one on her own and confessed. What did she confess to? To seeing a movie that was different than the one she said she was going to. What a pathetic confession Alli!
We bid these chairs goodbye. They know more about our family than anyone. They are being adopted into a new home that has no children. They will be lonely for sure. So until we meet again.............

I've said it before; I'm pretty sure those chairs have permanent imprints of my sweet cheeks from all of the time I spent in them! They've definitely seen and heard a lot!
I am going to miss them! I have never had a "white chair talk", but I really have loved sitting in those chairs!
Sad day. We should have a memorial service or something.
WOW...no white chairs. Can it be?
I wonder if you really will miss them? Replacing them? Where are they going...are they at least remaining in the family?
There does need to be a service done with these chairs. They will never be forgotten. Too bad they aren't staying in the family...if only we had a place for them.
I totally remember those chairs, and have the privilege of saying that for a brief moment I sat my little tooshie in one at your old "PT" house, although I had no idea how significant that was as no “talk” was given, but it was my first YWYM swim party and the nerves were calmed by the comfort given from the white chair.
i can tell you exactly the times and reasons in my life i would've been called in for a white chair talk had i lived in your house! instead i got our families version being "denny's with dad". as long as you have a spot is what counts! look at how we've all turned out! :)
SAD!!! i love those chairs! they're so comfortable!
